Carrie (RSW, MSW)
As a clinical social worker and trauma therapist, I draw on extensive experience supporting individuals of all ages through anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, and attachment challenges. I tailor each therapeutic journey to the unique needs of my clients, integrating a range of modalities to facilitate meaningful healing and growth.
EMDR is one of my primary approaches. I am proud to be one of the few therapists in Thunder Bay that has received advanced training with children and adolescents in EMDR. I receive clinical supervision under Jillian Hosey, MSW, RSW—an internationally recognized EMDR trainer, researcher, and author in both Canada and the U.S. I apply EMDR with children, youth, and adults, and I actively support fellow clinicians as an EMDRIA‑Approved Consultant. I also train practitioners through the AGATE Institute’s EMDR basic programs and the intensive children’s EMDR workshops led by Ana Gomez, Therapist, teacher and author.
My practice is truly integrative. Beyond EMDR, I incorporate Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), clinical hypnosis, parts work (IFS), and ego-state therapy—all aimed at deep healing, self-awareness, and nervous system regulation. My background in expressive arts therapy equips me to bring creative, non-verbal, and embodied techniques into sessions—offering new pathways for expression and transformation.
When working with families, I collaborate with parents and caregivers to build connection, structure, consistency, and predictability with their children and teens. By establishing these foundations, I help people feel safe, empowered, and ready to flourish as their best selves.
